Well done to all the KS4/5 boys and girls who competed in the interschools 7-aside football competition at St Gerard's School today.
The team battled well in the group stages, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to the eventual competition winners Beechlawn, before a last minute strike from Oscar led the team to victory over Castle Tower II's. With hope renewed, the team needed to beat St Gerard's, the hosts, to qualify. They romped to victory, winning 3-0 with strikes from Oscar (2) and Dylan, with the whole squad playing a part.
Having qualified for the semi finals, Park drew Castle Tower I's. In a tense and tight affair, Park pushed for an opener creating good chances, but lacking a clinical. Following a good save from Kori in goal, the opposition grabbed a late lead before sealing the win with a good goal.
A great day was had by all, and the attitude and approach was superb! Well done to all involved!
