Last week, our school celebrated National Coding Week with a variety of activities across the year groups. Year 8 students explored the world of Binary by converting their initials and turning them into colourful beaded keyrings. Meanwhile, Year 9 and Year 10 showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills by coding their own Flappy Bird and Angry Birds games online. A highlight of the week was when 10SA were expertly taught how to move a sprite in Scratch by Tyler, who confidently shared his knowledge with his class.
The whole school also joined in the fun with a QR Code Trail, which saw an incredible 93 entries submitted by students working either individually or in pairs. Impressively, 31 of those entries achieved full marks, with the top scorers entered into a prize draw for each year group. Congratulations to our winners!
It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and participation, and we are proud of the effort and talent our students displayed throughout the week.
