Bronze DOE Day 2

Yesterday, saw our Post 16 Duke of Edinburgh award students completing their second day walk, as part of their expedition training. The students completed over 15km of walking around Belvoir Forest and the Lagan towpath, carrying full sacks in the wind and pouring rain. During the day the students used map reading and orienteering skills, plus practised using trangia stoves to make hot drinks and lunch. The team have really started to gel and are communicating better, working as a unit to achieve their goals. Highlights of the day include a free history lesson from a local historian, a Titanic/lion king moment, Clarke in the puddle, and a stone skimming championship!

Well done to all who took part – roll on Castle Ward for walk 3!
