Good evening, I want to let you know about a training the Centre is facilitating focusing on young autistic adults, aged 14 years and above, who are approaching the end of Post Primary education.
The training, ‘16+ Options: Education & Employment’ will be in Lismore Comprehensive School, Craigavon, Co. Armagh on Saturday 29th February 2020. The aim of this event is to provide the young autistic adult and their parent/carer and educators opportunity to find out what pathways are available as young adult considers options at the end of post primary education.
Mr Adam Harris, founder of AsIAm is the keynote speaker at this event. Adam will give insight into his personal experience of living with autism and will discuss the challenges and options he faced when he approached the end of Post Primary School and how he over-came them. Speakers from the Education Authority Transition Service, Cedar Foundation Education & Employment, Southern Regional College and the NAS Transition and Advice team will explain what they do and the support they offer. Other organisations that support the transition to further education and employment will also be present on the day to answer delegates questions.
